Which Mac should I buy?

Five questions narrow Apple’s 2026 Mac range to the machine whose published specification best fits your use. This is not a personality quiz: the logic is based on workload, portability, display needs, memory demand and budget.

Best fit from your answers—

MacBook Air M5Best fit for portable general use and moderate creative workloads without paying for Pro-level hardware.
MacBook Pro M5 Pro/MaxFor sustained professional work, high-end displays, more ports and much higher memory/GPU ceilings.
Mac Studio M5 Max/UltraFor desktop users whose workload benefits from very high GPU scale, memory bandwidth or up to 512GB unified memory.

What about MacBook Neo, iMac and Mac mini?

MacBook Neo is the budget route if your workload is straightforward and the lower memory/storage ceiling is acceptable. iMac makes sense when you specifically want an all-in-one desktop with a built-in 24-inch 4.5K display. Mac mini is the compact desktop sweet spot when you already own a display and do not need Mac Studio-level GPU or memory capacity.

The selector intentionally recommends a family rather than pretending that one storage/RAM configuration is universally correct. Once you know the family, compare the actual configuration against your workload.
